Friends of Sanford, Inc. welcomes any donations toward projects located within Sanford’s city limits, whether that’s adding benches to public spaces, funding public art, etc.

How to Donate

The Friends of Sanford is a 501(c)3 unit of the City of Sanford. Tax-deductible donations can be accepted.

To donate by check:

Checks should be made payable to Friends of Sanford. Specify the intended use for your donation in the memo line (such as “public art” or “park benches”). If you’d like your donation applied wherever it is needed, write “General” in the memo line.

Public art donation options for memo line: 150 Trees, Arbor Day, Bee Sculptures, Charlie Watson Pop Up Art, Angel Wings mural, and general use. Donors should discuss new projects with Liz Whitmore (919-718-4657 x5393 or liz.whitmore@sanfordnc.net) before making a donation.

Friends of Sanford uses Paypal to process online and card donations. If you do not see your intended use in the preset options, choose “General Donation” and include your intended use in the note section.

All donors will receive a receipt letter that includes the Friends of Sanford tax ID for accounting purposes.
