The Friends of Sanford, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit unit of the City of Sanford, North Carolina. Past events were to raise funds for the Sanford Depot renovation, which is now being managed by the City. Learn more here.
PAST EVENTS
One Picnic, One Depot
We held an Earth Day picnic fundraiser in the park! Lunch or supper to-go boxes with a special menu prepared by these downtown restaurants on April 22, 2021. Boxes were $20 for lunch and $25 for dinner. There was a gluten free option for each meal and an option to order wine.
Participants were encouraged to bring a blanket to enjoy their meal in the park (social distancing requested) or take it to go. Gregg Gelb & the Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra played for dinner guests. Participants could also make donations to the Sanford Depot Renovation Campaign while you’re there.
All proceeds helped fund the renovation of the Sanford Depot!

Kick-Off Event
Our first fundraising event was “One Table, One Depot,” a dinner fundraiser held in Depot Park on October 17, 2019 before Downtown Alive.
This community dinner was a dining experience created by Downtown chefs that was held right in Depot Park.
The evening started with the “All Aboard Sculpture Dedication” and featured music and entertainment.
This was the kick-off event for the Sanford Depot Renovation Campaign.
